Blaydon
Alpacas began in 1996, with proprietors Carol and Matt
Ridley purchasing their initial stock in 1999. That same
year, they began the development of a database that linked
Australian alpaca show results with the female families
of the alpacas concerned. This database now embraces NZ
as well and covers over 600 shows dating back as far as
1991.
Our
corporate objectives are:
-
To
breed and/or acquire huacayas that exhibit continually
improving fleece and conformation characteristics
-
To
develop, maintain and provide access to an accurate database
that provides useful linkages between show results and
alpaca pedigrees, based on the thoroughbred horse model
-
To
provide a range of consultancy services to the alpaca industry
consistent with our skills and experience in sales, marketing
and technical writing
-
To
actively and usefully contribute to the development of
the overall alpaca industry in our region and nationally
-
To
deal fairly and openly with others and be highly regarded
within the industry for doing so
-
To
enjoy ourselves
